This page lists many of the features of the software
that didn't really fit on any of the other pages but
still deserved mention.
Wave59 contains a full fledged Square of Nine calculator.
You have the ability to set the center number, rotate
the square either direction, increment/decrement by
whatever amount you like, and apply various patterns
to the square to determine important future price levels.
This square is 8 layers deep, and shows the 90 degree
cross. This cross can be spun around with the mouse
and easily toggled on and off. 30, 45, 120 degree patterns,
as well as custom-built patterns are also available.
An additional bonus for astro buffs is the ability to
plot planetary positions directly on the square in real-time.
If you track a large number of symbols and don't want
to open a separate chart for each of them, you can use
Wave59's Quote Window to keep tabs on every stock or
future you follow.
Simply type in the symbol name and the rest of the
columns are automatically fill in. Columns can be reordered
with the mouse, and easily toggled on and off. Once
you've got your quote window set up exactly as you like
it, you can save it and easily call it back any time
you need it. Available fields include:
Last price, previous close, net
change, bid, ask, bid size, ask size, open, high, low,
volume, trade volume, and tick trend.
Wave59 was designed to be the perfect software for
geometric pattern matching. Even though the Pattern
Builder and scripting languages provide powerful pattern
building tools, some traders might still like to use
magic markers or clear overlays on their screen when
working out the details of a new pattern.
Because of this, there is no automatic scrolling of
the chart. Instead, the chart remains stable while the
price bars just add themselves at the right. This makes
the chart operate exactly as if it had been drawn by
hand. This also allows forecasts saved as ASCII files
to easily be plotted into the future.
Most other charting programs place all indicators in
a separate subgraph at the bottom of the price chart.
Each time a new indicator is added, these programs just
squash the price chart down to make space, then add
the new indicator at the bottom. While fine for purely
indicator based trading, this behavior is unacceptable
if you are using any kind of pattern or require perfect
scaling of the chart.
Wave59 does not use any subgraphs when indicators are
added. They are drawn directly to the chart without
changing any scaling factors. Again, this mimics the
way things would be done if you had been drawing the
chart by hand. All indicators act just the same as drawing
objects in this regard, and can be dragged to new locations
or resized with a simple click of the mouse. Everything
is drag-and-drop, so moving an indicator to the top
of the screen is just a matter of selecting it with
the mouse and repositioning it in the appropriate place.
Wave59 can be put in training mode, where the data
is initially hidden and revealed bar-by-bar as the user
clicks the space bar. All indicators and analysis techniques
appear exactly as they would have at that point in time,
and automatically update as new data is added to the
chart.
If you are new to trading, or would like to test your
ideas out before risking real money, then this feature
will pay for itself over and over again. It's faster
than paper trading in real time, and allows you to really
speed up the learning curve as you can simulate real
time conditions on past history. This means you can
get a days and weeks of trading experience in only a
few short hours of practice!
